Inspirational Speaker + Storyteller

What happens when life doesn't go as planned?

I had a picture of how my life was supposed to go. Maybe you did too.

But life has a way of changing the plan. Sometimes because of things that happen to us. Sometimes because of choices we make. Sometimes because we’re making decisions from places within ourselves we don’t fully understand yet. And sometimes, the life we worked so hard to build no longer feels like our own.

For years, I measured my life against the plan I had created and someone else’s definition of success.

My story is about what happened when I finally stopped trying to force life into that plan and started trusting God with the one unfolding in front of me.

Because life can be challenging and uncertain—and still be full of joy and incredibly beautiful.

About Beth

Speaker & Storyteller

Beth Geolat knows what it’s like to build a life

that looks successful from the outside while

quietly carrying more than anyone can see.

In one life-altering season, Beth choose to leave a marriage affected by alcoholism, becoming an only parent to two young boys, just two and four years old. At the same time, she walked alongside her mother who was battling glioblastoma, a devastating brain cancer that only gave her a 5% chance of surviving after six months. She did what so many of us learn to do: held everything together, kept moving, and became exceptionally good at looking strong.

For years, she believed that if she worked hard enough, made the right choices, and kept every piece from falling, she could control what happened next.

Life taught her otherwise.

After two decades in a demanding corporate career—and years of surviving circumstances she never would have chosen—Beth stopped trying to force her life back into the plan she once imagined. She began choosing a new one.

What she discovered wasn’t a perfect life. It was something better: a life that felt fully hers. One grounded in faith, courage, possibility, and a kind of joy that didn’t require everything to be easy first.

Today, Beth brings that hard-earned perspective to the stage through honest storytelling, warmth, and humor. She speaks to people navigating change, disappointment, loss, uncertainty, and the quiet realization that the life they planned may no longer be the life they are living.

Beth doesn’t offer audiences empty inspiration or pretend difficult experiences always arrive with simple answers. She reminds them that the hardest chapters of our lives do not get the final word and that even when life doesn’t go according to plan, something meaningful, joyful, and incredibly beautiful can still come next.
